Summer Vision
The music on
”Summer Vision” is much different from any other music published by Frank
Lorentzen
and it was composed over 7 years (1983-90). The music is very melodious
and
light and
in it's essence it reminds about quiet folk high school songs. It is dedicated
to his
family, friends
and people that he has a deep relationship with, those who help him keep
his
feet on the
ground. For this he is deeply thankful.
Frank Lorentzen
says the following about “Summer Vision”:
“Summer Vision”
comprises nine small pieces of melodious music in which flute is the main
instrument
together with electric piano. Several of the pieces are composed parallel
to the
creation of
“Hands” and “Centering”. When you work with meditative sound day in and
day
out, then
the need for other types of sound automatically arises. It may be compared
to being
in a completely
blue room. Consciousness seeks its contrast or the complementary colour
to
blue. The
music on “Summer Vision” is complementary music to that of “Hands” and
“Centering”.
In fact it
was not my intention to publish this CD. However, Fønix Musik thought
that it should,
as it would
probably give joy to many people. And it certainly has. The Association
of Parents
in Denmark
recommends the music for children who have difficulties in calming down
and falling
asleep. Some
of the pieces have been used as signature tunes for various radio broadcasts.
I myself use
“Summer Vision” when I need an atmosphere of warmth, light and lightness
mixed
with an atmosphere
of childlike openness and simplicity. “Summer Vision” is a good CD to listen
to if you
have this need.
I have a brother
who has his own clinic for physiotherapy and he uses music for relaxation.
For 15 years
he has used “Summer Vision” every single week in his clinic. His
clients even
ask him to
play “Summer Vision” during their treatment. My brother says that “Summer
Vision”
has become
part of his clinic – part of the relaxed atmosphere and a natural part
of the work
environment.
I am very proud that “Summer Vision” still maintains its value even after
so many
years. To
me it proves the quality and validity.
